When it comes to adventure adventurers who fancy themselves as nature lovers or fans of motorcycles in general will find Spiti Valley their paradise on earth. Spiti is often referred to as the "Middle Land", lying between India and Tibet. It has Heavenly views amidst barren hills, winding mountain roads, crystal-clear rivers, ancient monasteries and an integral Tibetan culture capturing every visitors' experience writing home from herena winner. Although I was off on an earlier trip to the kingdom of Jonpur with its non-stop mad rush traffic all day long and home from home guesthouses for Westerners who could not afford renting space or food locally something still felt odd about my arrival here. I was very slow-frequently so that I almost stopped-and when people kept stopping me and asking what my attitude toward Indians was I thought they must expect something Today a trip to Spiti Valley on a motorcycle is not just a ride but an examination in endurance, skill and the connection between people and their machines.

A motorcycle tour to Spiti Valley is not only quite different from what one might expect, but also extremely challenging. Like maniacs in search of adventure you might find yourself racing across the rough terrain, leaping over streams that were clear before your dusty wheels hit them; twisting and turning through difficult hairpin curves. At every turn on these roads there's another surprise waiting for you - be it the ravenous waters of Chandratal Lake, or ancient Key Monastery sitting high up on a hill with flags fluttering in the breaze from its peak, or the lunar landscape of Kaza. Addictive danger drives people to keep trying out their newly acquired skills at negotiating rough passes; and the enjoyment of riding on bikes through such natural and raw landscapes is one of the most sought-after forms of adventurous travel in India today.

Why not take a motorcycle trip to Spiti Valley? A valley full of infinite possibilities for adventure. I then invite you to experience the changes in climate and landscape. A good portion of Spiti Valley hovels at elevations between 3800 meters 4500 meters. Consequently, the paths are challenging; the climate is changeable; and there is usually not any quality air to breathe. For cyclists full of enthusiasm however, these are also all mights they get out of anything special.

Spectacular Environments: The way to Spiti Valley is vivid--hillsides rearing upward, fertile terraces strained from hard rows all through an abndant vegetable field below them, sparkling streams interposing every once in a whileon either side of one's road; mountains covered in bamboo groves and rich vegetation enshrouding narrow valleys that feed more water than all the rapids southward pouring if periods of rain don't come at all. The sharp contrast between the deep blue skies and the earth color of the valley makes each moment perfect for a picture postcard.

Cultural Encounters: The Spiti Valley is famous for its Buddhist culture. Motorcyclists can visit monasteries like Key, Tabo, and Dhankar, come into peaceful contact with local people, and learn about ancient traditions by immersing themselves in them.

Thrill of Riding: Spanning from wide highways to narrow trails winding off to the left, the terrain is unpredictable. On the other hand, every stage--whether it be the famous Kunzum Pass, lonely and bereft of people, or the Spiti-Kinnaur Road where one may meet head-ons with a lorryMUSTHeights achieved.
